A Fireplace, a Blanket, and These: The Perfect Holiday Romance Stack
the one where I share my christmas reading list for this year
I am so sorry for being MIA for a bit. This job keeps me so busy and with hockey for my daughter, I end up being at the arena most nights so I’m not able to write much in the day.
I’ve been deep into audiobooks at work so I can still get my reading done. Without audiobooks, I would be reading a book a month, which is not conducive for someone who loves to read and runs a book substack.
My favorite time of year is the holiday season. Not only do we get peppermint mochas at Starbies (my fav!) and Christmas movies, we also get some of the coziest romance reads. I’m sharing my holiday romance reading list, which I’ve already started getting into.
Eight Days of Christmas (Pineridge #1) by Starla DeKruyf - “Ready or not, Isabella Whitley is returning to her snowy hometown of Pineridge, Colorado for her sister’s Christmas wedding. She wants in and out unscathed. Unlikely. Enter Leo Hoffman. He’s frosty after striving-and failing-to forget Isabella, the only woman capable of jingling his bells.”
The Naughty List (Naughtier and Naughtier #1) by Jade West - “Ella, a desperate, newly single goth girl with a mountain of debt, would do anything to see her parents this Christmas… the problem is, her parents live on the other side of the world. So, when she’s granted access to The Naughty List – a marketplace for dirty proposals from rich strangers – she opts to take everything and anything she can get.”
Christmas Is All Around by Martha Waters - “A former child star learns that holiday magic can come from a change in perspective—or location—in this “delightful, hilarious” (Entertainment Weekly) rom-com.”
Merry Christmas You Filthy Animal by Meghan Quinn - “Nothing says I love you like trespassing, public humiliation, and a town-wide Christmas spectacle to win your crush back.”
Good Spirits by B.K. Borison - “Ghost of Christmas Past Nolan Callahan intends to spend this holiday haunting like every other—get in, get out, return to his otherwise aimless existence as a ghost awaiting the afterlife. But when he’s faced with Harriet York, the sweetest assignment he’s ever had, he suddenly finds himself wishing for a future.”
Christmas Mafia Prince by K.A. Merikan - “Christmas Mafia Prince” is a standalone M/M dark romance where a mafioso makes a stranger his fake husband for the holidays, but then falls for him hard and fast amidst a Christmas from hell adorned with mayhem, murder, and mistletoe.” P.S. Please check the Goodreads linked for TWs.
The Christmas Tree Farm (Dream Harbor #3) by Laurie Gilmore - “Kira North hates Christmas. Which is unfortunate since she just bought a Christmas tree farm in a town that’s too cute for its own good. Bennett Ellis is on vacation in Dream Harbor trying to take a break from both his life and his constant desire to fix things. But somehow fate finds Ben trapped by a blanket of snow at Kira’s farm, and, despite her Grinchiest first impressions, with the glow of the fairy lights twinkling in the trees, and the promise of a warming hot chocolate, maybe, just maybe, these two lost souls will have a Christmas they’ll remember forever...”
Lovelight Farms (Lovelight Farms #1) by B.K. Borison - “Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series.”
Ice & Sweet: A MM Romance by Charlie Novak - “Making the cake for my ex-fake boyfriend turned best friend’s wedding the week before Christmas was easy. Carting it halfway across England in the snow was not. Especially not when a blown-out back tyre leads to me coming face to face with my long term crush for the first time in five years.”
The Holiday Hookup List by Alexis Daria - “If this is my second chance with Valencia, I’m not wasting it. We’re both alone this Christmas, so we create a naughty and nice list that would make Santa blush: twelve days of wholesome yuletide cheer, and twelve nights decking each other’s halls. As Christmas Eve, and the end of our list, approaches, I realize that twelve days with Valencia Torres isn’t enough. I want forever. But does she?”
What’s on your holiday reading list this season? Let me know in the comments.
Thanks,
Kirsten
