Life lately is a monthly look into what I’ve been consuming in the media.
I think I’m starting to get the hang of this writing thing. It’s starting to feel a bit easier to write out what I want to say. I definitely have to proofread a lot still, though.
Autumn is my favorite season and I am so ready for it. I’m over sweating, humid and frizzy hair, and generally having to work while the weather is so nice out. I work a 9-5 job in a library and sitting and watching everyone enjoy the nice weather is making me envious.
With all that being said, let’s get to it!
I’m still chugging along with my re-reading project of 80s and 90s teen and middle grade books. I’ve read a couple more Baby-Sitter’s Club (BSC) books and more m/m romance. I’m also currently reading The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood in physical format, which I got from my Book of the Month subscription (which you can subscribe to with this referral link).
I have been deep into Law & Order: SVU. I am one of the few people on this planet who had never watched an episode of SVU and so I started from S1E1 on Prime Video and got hooked and am now currently 3 seasons away from being caught up. I also started Law & Order: Organized Crime. I am also bingeing Dance Moms with my daughter and every single season and episode of Rupaul’s Drag Race plus spinoffs with her. We just finished season 14 of the original and are about to start All-Stars season 7. We’ve been watching them in order of air date and started from season 2. I’ve seen all of them, but she hasn’t so I started it from the beginning with her.
I also went and saw Deadpool & Wolverine in theatres. Fun fact: I’m a huge comic book geek and have seen every Marvel and DC movie made (that only includes the MCU and DCEU movies). It was my first time going to the movies by myself and I was terrified. I’ve been pushing myself to go out by myself more since I have severe anxiety that everyone is looking at me and judging me.
I’ve been listening to my summer playlist on repeat, but looking forward to listening to my autumn playlist. Chappell Roan is another favorite I have on rotation, along with Sabrina Carpenter and Kacey Musgraves’ Deeper Well album.
That’s all from me today! Look forward to more changes as I grasp this thing called Substack and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see or change.
