Netflix has picked up the rights to Stephen King’s Cujo, based on his 1981 novel of the same name. The project is in early stages, with no one attached yet to write the script yet. (Reactor Mag)
Macy’s is optioning When Women Ran Fifth Avenue: Glamour & Power At the Dawn of American Fashion for a possible TV series. The book, written by Julie Satow, focuses on the untold stories of the women who built and shaped some of the most iconic department stores in America. (Deadline)
Scott Eastwood has joined Allison Williams in the adaptation of Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. The film is slated to hit theatres October 24th. (The Hollywood Reporter)
Jon M. Chu teased a new Crazy Rich Asians TV series. Max is developing the series based on the trio of novels by Kevin Kwan. Chu is set to return as director of the series after directing the movie of the same name. (EW)
Verity has a newly announced release date. Amazon MGM Studios has set a May 15th, 2026 date for the adaptation based on Colleen Hoover’s book. Anne Hathaway recently announced on her IG that production has wrapped for the movie. (The Hollywood Reporter)
Production has wrapped on Edgar Wright’s adaptation of Stephen King’s Running Man. The movie is set to be released November 7th. The adaptation is set to star Glen Powell in the lead role. (Bloody Disgusting)
The trailer for Project Hail Mary, based on the novel of the same name by Andy Weir, was released at CinemaCon. The movie will star Ryan Gosling in the lead role. (Variety)
A new Carrie adaptation is coming to Prime Video as an eight-episode series. Mike Flanigan will executive produce, showrun, and write the series. (The Hollywood Reporter)
We’re getting a new Pride and Prejudice series at Netflix. The series will star Emma Corrin, Jack Lowden, and Olivia Coleman. (The Hollywood Reporter)
We Need Diverse Books announced We Need Diverse Books Day, a new reading day to highlight the importance of access to inclusive reading. The annual day will be held on April 3rd. (USA Today)
L.J. Smith, author of the bestselling Vampire Diaries novels, passed away on March 8th, 2025, after a long illness. (Locus Mag)
The National Book Critics Circle announced their 2024 award winners. You can view the winners and finalists on their website. (National Book Critics Circle)
NaNoWriMo is shutting down. Founded in 2006, the nonprofit is known for it’s National Novel Writing Month challenge, an online event where participants are challenged to complete a 50,000 work rough draft within the month of November. (AV Club)
The Women’s Prize for Fiction Shortlist and Longlist has been announced on their website. The winner of the prize is Brotherless Night by V.V. Ganeshananthan. (Women’s Prize)
