the ultimate being sick guide
for when you are home sick
i have a cold. it started as exhaustion through the week where by the end of every day, i was yawning constantly. while talking to students in the library to driving home from work, i could not stop. and then i realized, this is me getting sick. in that instance, i cursed my mother (not really but i wanted to). she went to a wedding the previous weekend and came home sick and passed it on to not only me, but my sister-in-law, as well. when i’m sick, i become a big baby. my daughter helps me through it and we have a routine for when we’re sick.
Harry Potter movie marathon - every time one of us is sick, we watch the harry potter movies. we don’t binge them all, but rather go through one each bout of sickness.
Any show you need to catch up on - for me, it’s Agatha All Along currently. i’m 2 episodes behind. i’m also catching up on Rupaul’s Drag Race Global All-Stars. i’ve also been eyeing Nobody Wants This on Netflix which i feel i’m the only person who hasn’t watched it yet.
Video games - my daughter has a nintendo switch and we love playing cozy games on the couch under a pile of blankets and tissues. currently we’re playing Luigi’s Mansion 3 for the spooky vibes and Epic Mickey Rebrushed.
Soup - i know most people prefer chicken noodle soup while sick, but in our house, it’s chicken and rice. it doesn’t even have to be homemade, we like the campbell’s canned soup just as much.
Ginger ale - a cold can of ginger ale for your throat is no joke. it soothes it so much.
Throw blankets - we have 3 on our couch, one for each of us. super easy to throw on and off between bouts of fever and chills.
Tea - chamomile tea all the way! mixed with some honey. mmmm!
Cough drops - we use either hall’s or ricola.
Slippers and pyjamas - why bother getting dressed when you’ll be sleeping most of the time anyways?
Books - can’t forget books! pick up that book you’ve been putting off and get through it.
What do you grab or do when you’re sick? Let me know.
Hope to see you here again,
Kirsten

The Harry Potter marathon is all too real! Now I wish I was sick to experience that cozy late night soup, blankets, and marathon duo, but I know it's not all fun and games. Thank you for sharing and I hope you get well soon.
I don't know why, but, hopefully there is some sun and I can get out into the sun.
Don't know why, but I think it makes me feel better.
Hope you feel better soon.
