upcoming book releases vol. 2: mm romance, romance and a note about Goosebumps
Sept. 2 - 8, 2024.
As I go on this new journey of creating a Substack, I find myself questioning whether I can call myself a writer. What constitutes being and calling myself a writer? I read many Substacks on here and constantly doubt myself and my writing because I always struggled in school with it. I love the editing and proofreading part of the writing journey, but second guess myself a lot in the writing process. I feel like I ramble and don’t get my points across well. I wonder if people will like what I have to say and read it.
The point of all this is to say, thank you for your patience as I go on this journey. I’m a single mom who works full time and have a passion for reading and if there’s anything I can do to make this newsletter what everyone would like, please let me know. I welcome all comments and feedback. I’m also thinking of expanding this newsletter to have not only books and reading, but a little culture, as well. I think I’m going to do a lifestyle post on Wednesdays and the weekly list on Sundays as usual.
The list this week is volume 2! I can’t believe I’ve been writing on Substack for a month. I also completed my reading goal on Goodreads this month instead of at the end of the year. My goal was 375 books and I’ve now surpassed it at 393 as of writing this August 28th. I just ordered 2 new physical books from my Book of the Month subscription.
I ordered Sleep Tight by J.H. Markert and Phantasma by Kaylie Smith. Both books seem to be very fall vibes, with Sleep Tight a thriller and Phantasma a Paranormal Romance, both right up my alley.
Here are the synopses:
Sleep Tight: The lone survivor of a serial killer may hold the key to solving a new case when a copycat killer goes on the hunt.
Phantasma: Welcome to Phantasma! A haunted mansion modeled on the nine circles of hell, where falling in love poses fatal risks…
They both sound soooo good!
King of Hollywood - Fae Quin - September 2
Cramming at Randy’s - Alex Silver - September 5
My Minotaur Daddy: An MM Romantasy - Laura Lascarso - September 5
Vail (East Dremest Mafia #2) - Michelle Dare - September 6
Hot Hex Boyfriend - Carly Bloom - September 3
Prime Time Romance - Kate Robb - September 3
While compiling this list, I saw that R.L. Stine is releasing his Goosebumps series as graphic novels. I thoroughly enjoyed this series when I was younger, but the end of each chapter always angered me because it seemed like something bad or scary was going to happen and then SIKE! It didn’t. My daughter would enjoy these, though. We enjoyed the show on Disney+ with Justin Long and are eagerly anticipating the next season.
That’s all for this week. Hope to see you again!
