This week has sucked for me. I got the flu and was off sick from work for 2 days. Not ideal. I’ve watched a lot of tv in between sleeping on my couch and did watch a scary movie with my daughter. We’ve been starting our horror and scary movie watch-a-thon recently to get into the Halloween season early. I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for hot weather to end. My city has been still getting 30+ degrees weather and I am so over it.
Went to see Beetlejuice Beetlejuice with the kiddo this weekend. I will let you know how it is in the next update on Wednesday. Also watched The Open House on Netflix. I have a half-hour test for movies. If it doesn’t hook me in 30 minutes, I shut it off because it’s not for me. This was one of those movies. The vibe was creepy and intense but nothing was happening so I got bored. I’ve also been watching Selling Sunset S8 on Netflix. I’m almost done the season, but so far I’ve been enjoying it.
Looking forward to this Beef & Barley Stew from Damn Delicious. I’ve made it before and it was a hit with the family, so I decided to keep it as one of the soups in my winter meal rotation. Also making this Golden Milk Latte from Fit Foodie Finds that is on my fall bucket list and hoping to make it into a daily drink for the fall. Hoping to make this Chai Coffee from Foodess next weekend to try it. I love a chai tea latte so hoping this gives me the same vibe.
I’m still chugging along with my giant tbr tackling project. I’m making my way through the books written in the 90s on my list now. I’ve also started reading Phantsma by Kaylie Smith, which I got from my Book of the Month subscription. If you don’t subscribe, I highly recommend it. I’ve found some gems from there. I also finished The Five-Star Weekend by Elin Hilderbrand. It was a meh read for me. It was okay, but not a book I would pick up again. I also finished She Started It by Sian Gilbert. This was another Book of the Month pick and I found it so predictable.
