I can’t believe I’m at volume 7 for upcoming releases. I started this Substack as a way to share what I was reading and looking forward to being released. Instagram was one I thought of, but it didn’t seem like the right format for me to use. I wanted to write and on Instagram, you’re so limited. It’s also become such a hateful place online now (have you looked at the comments section of posts? It’s just people complaining non-stop about something that has nothing to do with them). I discovered Substack by subscribing to newsletters and thought “I want to do this.” I have to admit, though, I was the worst writer in college and university and despised essays (I have a Bachelor of Arts in English so that tells you a lot lol I liked the editing and proofreading process more). I realize now you don’t have to be the best or the perfect writer. There’s a reader for everything.
Watching:
I am currently in the midst of watching a lot of newer shows. I finally finished Nobody Wants This which I LOVED!! The romcom is back, baby! I also finished Heartstopper season 3, which is one of my favorite shows. It makes me smile the entire time I watch it.
I started watching Grotesquerie, which yes, it’s grotesque but I myself am a Ryan Murphy fan. I’m loving Doctor Odyssey which is currently airing right now, too. Grotesquerie is gory, but there’s more than just the gore. If you’re a fan of American Horror Story, it might be up your alley.
I finally finished Emily in Paris season 4. It wasn’t my favorite and once again, she’s in another love triangle. Starting to get to be like Younger was with the whole “who will she end up with” storyline over numerous seasons. JUST PICK SOMEONE EMILY!
Currently Reading:
I finished Intermezzo this week and it wasn’t my favorite. I know that’s an unpopular opinion, but I found the story dragged quite a bit. I also forgot how Sally Rooney doesn’t use quotation marks. It felt very disjointed and like I was reading her thoughts of what the story is rather than reading a story. Again, this is MY opinion, not what everyone should think about it.
I’m also halfway through The Steady by Kelly Fox, which is the fourth book in her Lost Boys series. It’s smut and I love it.
I also started Dearest by Jacquie Walters and so far, it’s creepy. It hooked me right away in the prologue. I got this book through my Book of the Month picks.
