The weather has been absolutely beautiful here in little ol’ Ontario. I wore sandals on Wednesday to work due to the mild temps, even though the leaves were falling everywhere outside. It’s the best of both worlds as Hannah Montana would say.
Yesterday, I finally got to go see my daughter’s hockey. I went to my sister’s 40th surprise birthday party last weekend so I missed her first game and her scoring the first goal of the game and hockey season. I am pretty bummed about that. She was so excited telling me about it, too. Sad face. We went to the pumpkin patch afterwards and picked out our pumpkins and in the evening went to our Botanical Gardens annual Great Pumpkin Trail, which is a lot of fun. We never submit a pumpkin for it, but it’s so fun to see what everyone else came up with for designs. You get to explore the Botanical Gardens while looking at 100 differently carved pumpkins and spooky decorations. My daughter loves it.
This upcoming week I don’t have a lot of stuff lined up besides FINALLY going to get moldings done for my night guard. I didn’t have benefits previously, but once I got full-time status in the Library, I’m taking advantage because I refuse to pay $500 for a lab processing fee. I also booked my optometrist appointment for the week after because mama needs some new glasses.
Watching:
My daughter and I finally reached season 8 on Dance Moms and are hoping to finish that soon because season 7 was not our favorite and we haven’t heard good things about season 8. We also finished season 3 of Canada’s Drag Race and season 2 of Rupaul’s Drag Race Down Under. We also watched It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, which is our tradition to watch it every year.
We’re hoping to go see Smile 2 because we enjoyed the first one a lot. If I do, I’ll give you a review next volume.
I’m also doing my 3rd rewatch of Schitt’s Creek. It’s one of the best shows to binge and put on before bed because I can have it on in the background while reading.
Currently Reading:
I’ve been chugging along on All Rhodes Lead to Here by Mariana Zapata, which I got through Libby from my local library. It’s the slowest burn to ever burn, but it is sooo good. I’m really enjoying it and can’t wait for when someone finally makes a move. It’s gonna be explosive and so smutty, I can tell by the tension in it. It is a long book, though, so it’s been taking up a lot of my reading time. I have been reading it before bed which I never do.
I’m also still reading The Boyfriend by Freida McFadden. I haven’t made much headway on it due to the above enjoyment.
